For outdoor cooking, a grate accompanies the fireplace. A log grate is also provided to enhance safety while assisting with cleaning the fireplace. Three steel legs support the fireplace. While the elevation reduces the risk of grass fires, close fire supervision is always advisable. Some assembly is required. The Chiminea can be used for burning wood, charcoal, or artificial logs.
